This is a beautiful (and short!) video on empathy. So often we feel helpless in the face of a friend or loved one’s pain, and we want so much to fix it for them. However, jumping in with even the best toolbelt of solutions often misses the mark. Here, Brené Brown reminds us, connection is the solution. Awesome, right? Because we all have that in our toolbelts.

‘Love’, a wire sculpture by Ukrainian Alexander Milov (as seen here at the 2015 Burning Man festival) captures the essence of a disconnected couple… sitting back-to-back, turned away from each other in pain or despair, while each partners’ inner child longs to reach out and connect.
